  Powder metallurgy is a technology to make metal powder or using metal powder (or mixture of metal powder and non-metallic powder) as raw material to make metal materials, composite materials and various types of products through molding and sintering. Powder metallurgy has some places similar with ceramic production, and both are powder sintering technologies. Therefore, a series of new powder metallurgy technologies can also be used for the preparation of ceramic materials. Thanks to the advantages of powder metallurgy technology, it has become the key to solve the issue of new materials and plays a rather important role in the development of new materials.

  During the powder metallurgy and ceramic production process, sintering and firing are essential circles. As the powder metallurgy technology is widely used, the sintering circle shall select silicon carbide rods (silicon carbide electrical heating element) or silicon molybdenum rods (molybdenum disilicide electrical heating element) as heating material according to the sintering temperature. For some industries, the particularities of the production process make the electrical heating elements in relatively harsh environments, such as strong acids, strong alkalis, and other corrosive environments and over-high temperatures will cause different influences to the service life of rod body.

  Songshan silicon carbide rod production process arranges special circles to strengthen and transform the rod body and adds different production materials and coverage technologies according to the changes of the using environment (acid or alkali), so that the silicon carbide rod can have a good resistance in such special environments, effectively reduce corrosion of corrosive gases to the rod body, and keep a good heating state and service life consequently.

  Songshan silicon molybdenum rod (molybdenum disilicide heating element) is made with the world’s latest hot bending technology. Its silica protective film and the pure material of the rod body make the rod body get effective protection at high temperatures and corrosive gases. When the temperature is higher than 1,700℃, Songshan silicon molybdenum rod will perform a better working state and a longer service life.

  Silicon carbide rod, also known as silicon carbide heating element, is a rod-shaped non-metallic high-temperature heating element made of high-quality green silicon carbide through green block processing, high-temperature silicification and recrystallization. Compared with metal heating elements, silicon carbide rods have the features like high using temperature, anti-oxidation, corrosion resistance, long service life, small deformation, easy installation and maintenance, etc. Therefore, silicon carbide rods are widely used in the high-temperature furnaces of magnetic materials, powder metallurgy, ceramics, glass, metallurgy, machinery and other industries as well as in other electrical heating equipment.
